Health Action Training (HAT) represents a revolution in communication training, role play assessment and health simulation. Based in Co Derry, Northern Ireland, HAT offers a fresh and up-to-date approach to communication and resilience training. Techniques drawn from actor training and applied drama are delivered in the context of a person-centred philosophy. HAT can improve communication, leadership and resilience for any teams, in any context.
We offer a range of fully accredited courses that are adapted to suit the specific needs of organisations and\or professional groups. Our 12-hour short courses delivered in 3-hour sessions via Zoom include;
- Coping with Crisis; Recovery and Growth,
- Coping with Telehealth: Communication for work and life,
- Coping with Communication, Leadership and Team working,
- Coping with Loss grief and bereavement,
- Coping and Communication in Dementia Care,
- Coping and Communication in Person Centred Care,
- Coping with Role Play for Simulation and Assessment.
All HAT short courses are offered within a CPD Framework and can contribute to award of a Post Graduate Certificate in Health Action Training.
Longer courses (36 hour) include ‘OSCE Preparation and Transition for International Mental Health Nurses’ and the “Graduate Certificate in Health Action Training” . These courses are offered via Zoom and\or face-to-face and tailored to individual organisation and\or professional group requirements. Following the Graduate Certificate in HAT, learners can become a HAT certified trainer through our “Train the trainer” approach by taking two further courses, “Health Action Training and Issues in Health Communication” and “Teaching and Assessment for Health Action Training”.
