Christopher Reid, co-director of Humanity Cosmetics, has said that his company had no hesitations in getting involved with next month’s high-level trade and investment delegation travelling to Boston and Philadelphia.
Christopher runs the skincare brand aimed specifically at men with his fellow co-director Gerald Floyd, and they are one of seven companies who will travel to the US from November 11-15 for the ‘Gateway to Growth’ mission, in co-ordination with Derry City and Strabane District Council and Donegal County Council, and funded by The Executive Office and the Irish Government.
Humanity Cosmetics is a results driven skincare brand for men which uses a mix of natural based ingredients with potent active ingredients to provide results. The company use the oldest, most evolved form of collagen on the planet, which is from the jellyfish.
When the chance to get involved in the delegation came through, Christopher said the company were delighted to tap into a market that they have always planned to be involved in.
“We had plans to expand into the US from the start. Our research shows that men’s grooming in the USA will grow to $81.2 billion by 2024, so we know we need a presence there. The opportunity came to us through this trade mission and so we booked our flights the next day,” he explained.
“We are committed to achieving results for male skin. Our formulas have been designed by us and are completely exclusive to Humanity Cosmetics. Our brand is being developed into a Spa range for men and, as we achieve the best results, we are becoming an ‘Authority Brand’ and a ‘Destination Brand’ for men.
“We have big ambitions in the next five years to gain as many listings as possible and to be stocked in department stores and 5-star spas around the UK, Ireland, USA and UAE. We also want to develop our brand and awareness, and to develop white label for other brands.”
During the visit, the company will have the chance to meet with key business, political and civic contacts. They will be able to explore and understand opportunities in the US market, and develop in-market networks and relationships with potential customers, as well as engaging with potential investors and business connections.
