What is Pathfinder II?
Pathfinder II: Ireland NW to Boston GoToMarket Lab is the continuation of previously delivered Pathfinder programme delivered in 2023 and is designed to coincide with Golden Bridges 2024. Donegal County Council and Derry City and Strabane District Council working in collaboration with Alpha Innovation and the Local Enterprise Office in Donegal, have developed a programme informed by the successful Pathfinder programme delivered in 2023.
Pathfinder II Ireland NW to Boston connects innovative companies from the North West of Ireland with seasoned experts and experienced business leaders in the US market, offering invaluable insights to help them scale and thrive internationally. This program is tailored for high-growth enterprises that are poised to expand and are actively seeking to establish a footprint in the US. Participating companies must have a market-ready product, demonstrate consistent growth over the past three years, and possess a clear need to refine their go-to-market strategy for the US. Additionally, they must have the financial resources to support their expansion into the US market.
Who is Pathfinder II for?
Pathfinder II: Ireland NW to Boston GoToMarket Lab empowers early-stage, innovation-driven entrepreneurs from the North West City Region of Ireland to scale their start-ups and refine their GoToMarket strategy. This program helps founders and CEOs stress-test their business models with US experts, sharpen their value proposition, and become investor-ready. Designed for those with developed or in- development products actively engaging customers, Pathfinder II provides tailored support to build a solid GoToMarket plan. Open to all sectors, it welcomes passionate and ambitious entrepreneurs ready to elevate their business to new heights
What you need to know
Participation in the Pathfinder II program is free, and up to 50% of your flight and accommodation costs will be reimbursed by Derry & Strabane District Council or Donegal County Council, subject to terms and conditions. Companies will complete a self-assessment to highlight their business needs, technology maturity, and challenges. This helps us connect you with US experts who provide tailored guidance on your GoToMarket strategy. Our in market professionals will offer valuable insights and proven strategies to help you navigate your business challenges and accelerate your success.
Terms and Conditions
Travel and Accommodation Costs
- Eligible companies can claim up to 50% towards flight costs (economy fares only). Extra luggage or preferred seat choices are not eligible for reimbursement.
- Eligible companies can claim up to 50% towards Hotel accommodation costs.
- Combined Flight and accommodation cost reimbursement is capped at £2,500/€2,500 per company.
- Travel Insurance and sickness cost are not eligible for reimbursement. Mission members are strongly advised to take out adequate travel and sickness insurance for their trip.
- The cost of ESTA admin fees is eligible for reimbursement.
- Cash payments cannot be reimbursed without supporting receipts.
Documentation required for Proof of Purchase and Payment for the above claims is required and includes:
- Copy of flight confirmation
- Copy of hotel bill
- Copy of ESTA payment
- Copy of redacted credit card/bank statement with details of payment and evidence of exchange rate, if applicable.
